The plane to Yap was not even half full, which was a good sign! We hardly saw any white people, so that was alright as well. The checking is was a piece of cake, but the chaos in the airplane was clear. Wrong entry forms, people had to move around the plane all time, great! We needed this after the organised Japan!
The flight went fine, although we had a lot of turbulence in the small plane. The arrival was fantastic! We passed the atols, beautiful blue coast lines and eventually the small island of Yap! We had to laugh when we were asked to enter the airport via Terminal 1... Yap airport has only one terminal! The enjoyment got to a climax when we received flower wreaths when arriving at the luggage line (which is not a belt in Yap) where we waited for the pick-up to bring in our bags. When we were picked up by a small man who was just wearing a piece of cloth, we knew this stay would be great!

Our small hotel (Pathways) is absolutely perfect. The rooms are modern, but still traditional sheds on stilts built agains a natural wall full of palm trees. The flowers we waiting on our bed (which was too short for us); every day fresh ones! Even the towels were fold up in the shape of flowers. From our balcony we had a great view at the bay of Colonia.
